Bourg St. Maurice, France July 8, 2002

The Isere river, as it flows through Bourg St. Maurice, plays host to this year's World Championship. It drops precipitously over a riverbed that has been modified and narrowed by EDF (Energie de France), a national version of the TVA. The race course is set against a backdrop of snowcapped Alpine peaks and stout French chalets. These pictures were taken during a training session on July 8.
